We are transitioning several products from the client/server environment to the web. We are looking for a key individual to manage the development of our Web Products. The ideal candidate will have excellent management skills and the ability to keep a small team of Web developers focused and committed to developing reliable and efficient Web Code.

Responsibilities:

• Manage Web design team on projects of moderate to large size and complexity. Often responsible for the product design of one or more applications. Recommends most efficient way to produce new products. Evaluates progress and results of development efforts. Is responsible for the hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews of software developers. Typically requires five to 10 years of technical experience in software development with one to three years of project leadership experience. Reports to the Director of Development.
• The candidate will participate in design sessions and is expected to contribute to the direction of projects and make informed decisions on the form and function of projects.
• The candidate will also act as a technical mentor and be able to keep the Web team focused on the tasks at hand in completing projects on time.
• The candidate will be responsible for progress reports, and project planning.
• The ideal candidate must have development experience with frameworks, components, web applications and java applications.
• The candidate should have ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• The candidate will also be responsible for insuring adherence to strong standard coding conventions, source management, and documentation.

Required Technical Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in analysis, design, and development
• Minimum of 4 years of strong development experience in JAVA/J2EE. This includes all facets of J2EE including JDBC, JSP, SERVLETS, EJB and XML
• Experience with multiple application server environments including Tomcat, WebSphere or Jboss
• Expertise in browser based web applications development. This includes JSP, HTML, DHTML and JavaScript
• Minimum of 3 years working with SQL

Required Professional Skills:

• Good interpersonal skills with team-oriented attitude
• Commitment to accuracy, quality, and attention to details while meeting deadlines
• Produce required upper level management reports on application progress and planning.

Considered a big PLUS:

• Retail or distribution experience
• UNIX/LINUX
• Proven experience in porting applications developed using IE5.0 features to Netscape Navigator
